Anna Centenary Library

Anna Centenary Library makes a substantial indoor family outing out of browsing and reading, with a dedicated first-floor children’s section rather than just a shelf in an adult reading room. Its themed reading space, multilingual books and activity area are especially useful for school-age children. Visit for books first; workshops depend on a published programme.

Vivekananda House Ice House

Vivekananda House combines a historic Marina building with a technology-led museum about Swami Vivekananda. Children can follow a life story through displays and a 3D film, while the optional 4D VR experience is restricted to ages seven and above. The meditation room gives the visit a quieter ending than a typical interactive attraction.

Muttukadu

DakshinaChitra Heritage Museum

DakshinaChitra is a living heritage museum where children can walk through reconstructed South Indian houses, compare everyday objects and watch or try selected crafts. It works best as a slow half-day with two or three houses, one activity and a meal, rather than a race through all 18 buildings. Admission, puppet shows, workshops, photography and parking are different budget lines; Tuesday is the usual weekly closure.
